Rebecca Boenigk

Rebecca Boenigk, Chairman and CEO of Neutral Posture, Inc., heads up the company that became a driving force in the ergonomic seating industry and the only woman-owned chair manufacturer in the United States.

In 1989, Rebecca and her mother, Jaye began manufacturing chairs based on neutral posture concepts developed by her inventor/engineering father, Dr. Jerome Congleton in Rebecca’s garage.

Together Rebecca and Jaye took Neutral Posture from a start-up company to a publicly held company in nine years, becoming the first and only certified women-owned business to be traded on the NASDAQ.

Rebecca was appointed by Hector Barreto to serve on the National Women’s Business Council, which serves as advisors to the President, Congress and U.S. SBA. She is Immediate Past Chair of the Women’s Enterprise Leadership Forum, serves on the Enterprising Women Advisory Board, Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer’s Association (BIFMA) Board of Directors, Women’s Business Enterprise National Council and through 2006, served on the Texas Governor’s Business Council and U.S. SBA National Advisory Council.
