Make It Short and Sweet

Ilise Benun

Hi Self Promoter,

At an event recently, I was approached by a solopreneur who wanted to tell me what he says when he calls to introduce himself to new prospects.

Of course, I said, "Please do," and he proceeded to give me almost a full minute about who he is and what he does.

It sounded pretty good but it won't work.

Because when you actually reach someone, you only have time to say this:

  • here's who I am
  • here's what I'm trying to find out
  • if you're interested, here's what I'll do next.

That's it.

So don't prepare a big speech.
That's not the point of this introductory call.
The point is to get an answer to one important question:
Are they interested in what you have to offer?

That's it.

And that's it for today. If this is something you need to learn (and practice), join one of my marketing groups starting in September ----->

And if you have questions on other marketing topics, take advantage of the free half hour
mentoring session here

Until next time,

Ilise Benun
