Kirk is an award-winning journalist, author, editor, publisher, and innovator in nontraditional marketing and custom-created content.

Kirk is a leading expert in the profitable use of content to extend brands, win customers, create loyalty, and build sales. Kirk’s career began in Detroit, where he was a Pulitzer Prize finalist for investigative work as a reporter at the Detroit Free Press and winner of the prestigious Sigma Delta Chi Bronze Medallion for investigative reporting, along with many other national and regional journalism honors. He also has broad experience in regional magazines, having been the editor and/or president of five major titles, including Chicago Magazine.

Kirk has created marketing strategy and content for global clients such as Yahoo!, Hallmark, General Motors, Chrysler, Ford, Lexus, Unisys, Microsoft, Qwest Communications, Bank of America and many others. Kirk also is an expert on management and a frequent guest and “Brain Trust” member on the Small Business Advocate syndicated radio programme.

Kirk is the author of Thinking Inside the Box, a business book published by Simon & Schuster’s nonfiction imprint The Free Press.
