Jim Blasingame Receives Highest ACCE Award

Leading small business expert recognized for his support of chambers of commerce.

WASHINGTON, D.C. Today, the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) announced that it has presented Jim Blasingame with its highest honor to a corporate leader, the “Champion of the Chamber Movement” award.   This is not an annual award and has only been presented one other time previously. The recognition is for “years of tireless support of individual chambers and the ACCE.”

Jim Blasingame is recognized as one of the world’s leading experts on small business and entrepreneurship. He’s president of Small Business Network, Inc., but perhaps is best known as the creator and host of the nationally syndicated weekday radio program, The Small Business Advocate® Show.

ACCE is the leading national association serving professionals who manage local chambers of commerce of all sizes. ACCE's mission is to support and develop chamber leaders so they can better serve their chamber membership and communities.  Local chambers of commerce represent millions of American businesses, most of which are small businesses.

“We have been very selective in presenting the ‘Champion’ award over the years,” said ACCE president, Mick Fleming. “Jim Blasingame deserves this recognition not only because he uses his media platform to advance the importance of local chambers, but also because of his direct support to local chambers and, of course, for his many years as a valuable partner in our work at the ACCE.”

“As a member of my own chamber of commerce since 1977,” said Blasingame, “it is a great honor to be recognized by the community of chamber professionals for whom I hold the highest regard. The leaders at the ACCE and the chamber executives they serve are among the most dedicated small business champions on the planet, which makes supporting them an important part of my work and that of my organization.”

In addition to his nationally syndicated weekday radio show, which is also simulcast worldwide on the Internet, Blasingame is a keynote speaker, syndicated newspaper columnist, blogger, author of two books and founder of the websites, SmallBusinessAdvocate.com, AskJim.biz, and Jimsblog.biz.

Blasingame was the recipient of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2002 Small Business Journalist of the Year award, a member of the SBA’s National Advisory Council and the recipient of the Association of Small Business Development Centers’ “Champion of Small Business Award.” TALKERS Magazine named Blasingame one of the most important talk show hosts in America and Google ranks him as the number one small business expert in the world.

Small Business Network, Inc. (SBN), produces and distributes multi-media small business content worldwide. SBN sponsors include: FedEx, Administaff, IBM and Palo Alto Software.
